Tales from the Dog Park

Just a few images from Sunday at the dog park. There were a LOT of dogs there. Boodles had a great time, as always.

Take a look at this leap! That boxer can't believe his eyes!

Coley, a gorgeous brindle Akita, usually comes with a young woman and the young woman's mother. Sunday, the young woman and her husband were elsewhere, so Coley came with mom. Coley and Juniper get along fine, although they don't want to be bosom buddies. This day, though, there was a little tension in the air, and Juniper and Coley had to do a little chest bumping and posturing.

Juniper didn't like it much when Coley put her neck over Boodles.

Charlie couldn't entice Juniper into playing, despite his fancy dancing.

But Boodles found a new friend. This little girl is 3 or 4 months old. Don't they look like trouble going somewhere?

Dog Haiku

Love my master;
Thus I perfume myself with
This long-rotten mouse.
I lie belly-up
In the sunshine, happier than
You ever will be
Today I sniffed
Many dog behinds—I celebrate
By kissing your face.
I sound the alarm!
Paper boy—come to kill us all—
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!
I lift my leg and
Whiz on each bush.
Hello, Spot—Sniff this and weep
I sound the alarm!
Garbage man—come to kill us all—
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!
How do I love thee?
The ways are numberless as
My hairs on the rug.
I sound the alarm!
Mail carrier—come to kill us all—
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!
My human is home!
I am so ecstatic I have
Made a puddle
I sound the alarm!
Gardener—come to kill us all—
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!
I Hate my choke chain—
Look, world, they strangle me!
Ack Ack Ack Ack Ack Ack!

Look in my eyes and
Deny it. No human could
Love you as much I do
The cat is not all
Bad—she dots the neighborhood
With Tootsie Rolls
Dig under fence—why?
Because it's there. Because it's
There. Because it's there.
I am your best friend,
Now, always, and especially
When you are eating.
My owners' mood is
Romantic—I lie near their
Feet. I fart a big one.

Tales from the Dog Park

The last day of March was a terrific day to go to the dog park. The weather was sunny and warm enough. Boodles and Juniper were happy Daisy was here- She and Boodles wore each other out running- there's a slide show below.

Jasper, the German Sheppard was there for a while, as well as a couple of fearless small dogs.

Juniper allowed Chuck to see her belly. Later she acquired an acolyte- the slide show on the bottom tells that tale.
